Another year, another Venture! We just finished our first meeting of the year– it was wonderful to see so many new faces amongst our returners. We discussed a lot of important things for Venture’s future, so if you missed it I’ll summarize it here:
One of the most exciting announcements was that we will be holding elections for a new Web Editor, Secretary, and Head of Fiction. All elected candidates will take over next fall, aside from the Head of Fiction who will immediately begin leading the fiction team.
Your dutiful e-board has been drafting a tentative event schedule for the year; follow us on Instagram (@venture_litmagazine) for information on upcoming tabling events, Writer’s Blocks, and maybe even an entirely new kind of event.
Rejoice! With the advent of the new school year, weekly blog posts will make their return. Make sure to check back next Tuesday to see what awesome work our staff has cooked up for you to read.
I saved the best for last, because voting for this year’s theme has begun! The theme will be announced alongside the opening of our submissions form Wednesday, 9/17. Your submissions are the beating heart of Venture. They’re what our magazine was founded for, so make sure to submit (we love reading them).
See you next week,
Eli Norton, Web Editor.
P.S. If you weren’t able to attend our meeting but are still interested in joining, please contact us at venture@rider.edu.
